I spent most of my teen summers out at a cabin on a hill overlooking Lake Sakakawea in North Dakota. We had two separate cabins on the same hill, a large one that Granny stayed in and the small one that I used when not eating meals or playing cards with her. Those were some of the best times of my life. In the hospital, as she lay dying of diabetes and heart disease, Granny told me they were some of the best times of her life, as well.
